Because it was at a fast food resturant in the UK called Wimpy where I ate my first 'happy meal', gorged myself on 2 happy meals actually. Ended up in tears, stomach distended....but haven't looked back since. It brought me face to face with the joys of food. I'm not into them - can smell/detect someone eating them in the office & invariably stand up and point at them accusingly much to the amusement of my colleagues. I have plenty of food memories, but a fond one was buying lollies on the way to primary school - a packet for 1 or 2c and my favourites were the yellow and white worms and pineapples.Forager @ The Gourmet Foragerhttp://www.thegourmetforager.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1848781013603271056.post-90430019411429981722011-04-19T18:46:55.142+10:002011-04-19T18:46:55.142+10:00Yup, I remember my mum going gaga over Sara Lee ch...Yup, I remember my mum going gaga over Sara Lee cheesecakes those days and I wondered what all that fuss was about, and I'm still wondering..chopinandmysaucepanhttp://chopinandmysaucepan.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1848781013603271056.post-55653922600337611012011-04-19T16:09:20.178+10:002011-04-19T16:09:20.178+10:00I'm not a big fan of banana chips, but I like ...I'm not a big fan of banana chips, but I like bananas...<br />To be honest, I can't at all remember my first food memory :STina@foodboozeshoeshttp://foodboozeshoes.blogspot.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1848781013603271056.post-68632351742000471892011-04-19T12:47:19.483+10:002011-04-19T12:47:19.483+10:00wow, i have too many food memories and i cant real...wow, i have too many food memories and i cant really figure out which one comes first anymore...but i did try snake, durian, rabbit, turtle, blue cheese, donkey and other wacky...or i should say 'exotic' foods before.sugarpuffihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15208702930066095577noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1848781013603271056.post-72318320772278975702011-04-19T10:38:09.185+10:002011-04-19T10:38:09.185+10:00Earliest food memories? Pre kindergarten I remember there was a chinese takeaway across the road from my parents bakery, fried rice with sweet & sour pork was a dish I absolutely adored back then! Nowadays I look at the stuff and think how much oil and fat is in it. Oh and during early primary school years my teacher taught us basic 'cooking' I still remember the smell and taste of freshly baked damper with butter and golden syrup. Mmmm!
