Le Chasseur giveaway from Kitchenware Direct

There has been a distinct chill in the air during weeks of late and winter is well and truly upon us with crisp mornings and short daylight hours. While the middle of the day may be pleasant enough with winter sun (that is, when it’s not bucketing down with rain or blowing gale-force winds), the nights are definitively cold and there’s nothing quite like having something warming for dinner to comfort yourself from the inside out. Think stews, braises, casseroles, soups, risottos...the list goes on and on. And thanks to the lovely people at Kitchenware Direct, you get the chance to win a Le Chasseur product to create some warming food for yourself!

  1. The French Blue roasting pan, for slow roasting the Veal Shoulder I am planning on cooking for our 'Christmas in July Event"

  2. I'd choose the Le Chasseur Federation red round French Oven to cook a big pot of simmering hearty winter minestrone. It'd be jam packed with macaroni pieces, lots of beans, generous chunks of potatoes and vegetables i find in my pantry. I'm sure the gorgeous rustic style of these pots will make it taste ten times better :D

  3. I like the look of that blue frying pan -- even if I can't cook a steak properly, those nifty little lines will make it look just the business, right?

  5. Don't you just love the purdy colours. I would choose the 3.8L Le Chasseur Round French Oven in pink of course as it is just sooo girly. What would I make, well, Julia Child's boeuf bourguignon of course!

  6. This is excellent Rita! I would love to cook something I've never made before - lamb shanks - in the gorgeous red round French Oven and hoping, wishing, and praying that it will do its magic on those lovely shanks!

  7. I absolutely love all the gorgeous colours. Can I purchase one of everything?? I would choose one of the 25cm square grill pans because I'd love to be able to put stripey lines on everything I cook. I'd start with a french toast breakfast with bacon or banana, followed by some stripey sourdough and pumpkin soup and dinner would include some marinated greek style squid which I would toss with some greens and chargrilled vegetables. Yum!

  8. I would purchase the "Le Chasseur Aubergine Round French Oven" just because the deep purple colour is so sexy! (You know your life is tragic when you get excited by inanimate cookware). With my French Oven, I would cook "Gigot de sept heures" - yep, lamb shanks cooked for seven hours (hopefully I'd find the time), with potatoes, garlic, olive oil, onions, salt and pepper! Merci beaucoup pour cette compétition!

  9. The Blue Grill Pan for grilled burgers. Despite how homely and unelegant it sounds that's really the thing I want to cook. I guess it come with the territory of being Asian and living in Australia. Everything that Australians deem usual fare is something that is almost revered by an Asian and as it seems, I am no different, haha. I haven't ever had the perfect roast chicken or meat pie but at least if I win, I'll be on my way to enjoying the perfect burger.

  10. Oooh wow - I have been admiring these for a while now, so I know exactly what I would choose! I would choose a 30cm (2.5L) round casserole pot, perfect for winter cooking. I would cook up some delicious roast vegetables, such as smashed, crispy baby potatoes with olive oil, butter, sea salt and rosemary - mmmmm :)

  11. So much gorgeous cookware and a girl can never have too many casserole pots right? But then I spotted the 42cm stove top grill in sky blue and I died. I have many pots but almost nothing decent to grill a sizeable slab of meat with sexy char lines. And this one is certainly big enough to fire up a manly tomahawk steak, which would then be rubbed with lemon rind, olive oil, sea salt, garlic, parsley and thyme and served with a red pepper chimichurri sauce and a tomahawk glass of wine. It would be nice to have a steak that isn't cooked on a teflon fry pan :)

Also with one of this I can pretend to be jamie oliver which he always use one of this on Sat night 30 minutes meal show and chuck everything in there and mix with his hands then chuck in the oven. I want to be like him with one of those!I'll probably cook a seafood bake with asparagus & corn. Yum

  17. I'd choose the Federation Red! The gorgeous, vibrant colour of this French Oven Dish would look fantastic in my kitchen! I'd cook my family's favourite, Beef Stroggonof, and Beef and Red Wine Bourginon, Pub Shepherd's Pie, Apricot chicken... 19. I love the beautiful Le Chasseur colours, any product would add some much needed funkiness to my kitchen, although I can't go past the Le Chasseur Pistachio Round French Oven - it matches my apron ;) I'd whip up a batch of creamy tomato soup for our Christmas in July potluck (I think the green French oven and the rich red soup will suit the theme!)

  20. I'd choose the Square Grill Pan. It would be fabulous for bruschetta toast and it has a handle so it would be easy to hit my husband over the head with it - but that would be a last resort as I wouldn't want to damage the pan.

  21. The French Blue Saute pan (with lid) such a useful item and I love the loucr. It would be great to make Beef Strogonoff.

  22. My choice: Le Chasseur Inferno Red Roasting Pan 40x26cm

It looks bright, sturdy and useful - kind of like myself.

Things I could do with it: bake a chicken (well, really), knock out would-be burglars, sit on top of books I've accidentally got wet so they dry straight, create pressed flowers, roast potatoes with sliced chorizo and onion, tease bulls, crack open macadamia nuts, sit out on my counter to make friends jealous

As you can see, I really need it ;)

  23. What a selction - Le Magnifique
The 3.8L Le Chasseur Round French Oven in pink would cook beautiful meals for my monstously hungry brood

  24. The Pistachio Round French Oven with Lid 24cm - 3.8L, I adore this shade of green and it will look divine with my collection of other light green cookware. I would cook a dish I've been salivating over since I watched Rick Stein talk about it years ago. Cassoulet, but you need to let it form a crust once when baking, then push the crust into the casserole, and let it form the crust again. Rick said, that it is this extra crust in the cassoulet that makes it so good. I've never had the right pan before, so this is THE cassoulet opportunity I've been waiting for!!

  25. Inferno Red Roasting Pan – hope the name doesn’t mean I’ll literally start an inferno in my oven, I already burn enough as it is! Plus red makes cars go faster.... does that mean it cooks faster too?! (I wish!)

  26. I'd choose Le Chasseur Pink Round French Oven w/ Lid 24cm - 3.8L. I'd cook some nice hot curry because hubby doesn't like it, which means more nice hearty meal for me. He'd never touch it and the pink has my name written all over it. He wouldn't wanna be caught in the kitchen with a pink french oven would he??

  27. I would love the Le Chasseur Bora Bora Square Grill 25cm. The first thing I would cook with it is some beautiful steaks!! While we love attempting new and interesting meals, nothing comes close to the comfort of eating perfectly cooked steak with mushroom gravy, salad, chips for the hubby (I'm on a 'lifestyle change' lol so no chips for me) and maybe a sneaky rum and coke to wash it all down... can you tell we are country bumpkins!

  28. The big blue pot, so my 2 year old and I could make a pot of chicken soup. He loves to help Dad in the kitchen at the moment, plus it's the only thing I can make, so why not have the best equipment.

  29. I’d love the Le Chasseur Federation red roasting pan, so the husband can stop complaining about washing up the old washing roasting pans when cooking a nice winter roast!
